Sent February 3, 2023

Dear Mr Pallas

As a former councillor and current President of the Calder Action Group I would like to acknowledge and thank you for the following significant funding initiatives by your government over the years.

– Kings Road Overpass/Calder Freeway
– Station and Saunders Rd’s Roundabouts
– Station and Saunders Rd’s Intersection in New Gisborne
– Melbourne and Kilmore Roads Roundabout in Gisborne
– Roadside Safety Fences on the Calder Freeway to name a few

Now with the new year comes the budget
commitments for the May 2023/24 fiscal
year.

As you may not be aware there is a current
business case before budget estimates committee for the Calder Park Drive/Calder Freeway Overpass which our group, Brimbank City Council, Hume Council, Melton Council, Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Calder Highway Improvement Committee, local MP’s and community stakeholders have been advancing for the
last decade.

With the current growth predications for Northern corridor and cost benefit’s for this vital infrastructure we would encourage you and your government to give this project a serious consideration in this years budget.

Regards
Russell S Mowatt
